Floms

A new look for Floms, and the same drive to build

Floms has grown from a consulting team into a company that builds and runs its own products. The new identity shows that, and the values behind our work have not changed.

A new look for a company that has changed

Our old logo served us well. It was there while we built relationships, solved problems and grew into the team we are today. But it only told part of the story, and the company had moved on.

So we changed it.

Where we started

Floms has always been about making technology useful. That might mean building a custom application, connecting systems that do not talk to each other, modernizing infrastructure, or helping a business work out what it needs before anyone writes code.

For a long time we described ourselves mainly as a technology consulting and digital transformation firm. That was accurate, and helping businesses use technology well is still a big part of what we do.

We learned early that the best solution is not always the most complicated one. It is the one that solves the problem, fits the business and keeps working after launch. We still believe that.

Products we build for ourselves

For years we have also been building products for ourselves and using them every day. Some of them are now public, and more are on the way. Our own products include:

  • Loxti for business communications
  • Upti for payroll, invoicing and books, currently in closed beta
  • Proplox for property management
  • Provelox and Patchvia for developer and hosting infrastructure, both now open source
  • Andarvi for travel planning
  • Domain Curious for finding and acquiring domain names

Our engineering work for partners has grown alongside them. That includes our work with Coptev and platforms such as TruckerAlly, UltiTraq and Fleetstry. It is the same discipline: design, build, integrate and keep real software running.

Running products of your own changes how you build for clients. You stop thinking only about the first release. You start thinking about the next update, the edge case nobody expected, and the decisions that still matter two years later. That makes us better at client work too.

Why this logo

We did not change the logo just because it was time for a refresh. We wanted a mark that felt more like Floms today: thoughtful, practical, modern and a bit more distinctive.

We explored several directions. Some were too literal about technology. Others looked good on their own but fell apart when reduced to something simple.

We kept coming back to one idea: an F made from a few connected, folded surfaces. It is easy to recognize, it has depth, and it still works as a clean silhouette. It also fits the work: taking separate pieces, joining them and making something useful.

There is no hidden code in the mark. There is intention, though:

  • The strong vertical base stands for the foundations good software depends on.
  • The middle layer stands for how systems, products and people connect.
  • The upper fold points forward, to the part of the work that looks ahead.

The colors carry some meaning too: blue for confidence and engineering discipline, teal for curiosity and fresh thinking, and violet for the creative side of hard problems. These are interpretations. We chose the mark because we can stand behind it on a website, in a product, in a proposal, or in plain black and white.

What changes, and what does not

You will see the new identity on our website and in our communications, and we are making it clearer how our consulting work and our products fit together.

The way we work stays the same. We care about innovation, but not for its own sake. We believe in individuality, because no two businesses have the same problems. And we hold to integrity: we would rather tell a customer the truth than sell them something they do not need.

Those values have guided Floms for a long time. The new logo does not replace them. It gives them a visual identity that fits where we are now.

The same drive to build

We are proud of the work that brought us here, and we are looking forward to what comes next: more products to improve, more ideas to test, and more businesses to help.

A new look for Floms. The same drive to build.
